16 Years!
It's been a sweet 16 years since I married the love of my life. Happy Anniversary!
We went out to lunch to celebrate and enjoyed a yummy meal at one of our favorite Thai restaurants. (Lately, lunch is a much more convenient meal for date time, when we can sneak away while the kids are at school.) For dinner, we took the kids out for Mexican food. Good times! Here's to another 16 years, my dear!
Lucky Mother's Day!
In spite of my sore thumb, it was a very nice Mother's Day. I'd explicitly taken a pass on the annual breakfast in bed (I'm not such a fan, actually) and instead asked for a lunch picnic in the park. And, as is traditional, I asked for some pictures of me with the kiddos.

E.R. Visit
It started out innocently enough: BB announced that she'd "always, all my life" wanted to have a bow and arrow of her very own. She tried to make one of her own -- wish I'd gotten a picture -- created from a wooden dowel and a plastic spring. It was in the correct "D" shape, except she had the dowel (the stiff part) as the straight part of the "D" and the spring as the curved, flexible part. Exactly backwards, but the right idea.
"Family Bearloom"
It's a tradition at the kids' school: all second graders make their own teddy bears. As the sewing coordinator for BJ's class, I've looked forward to the teddy bear project all year long. When it was finally time to start sewing them, I think it was hard to tell who was more excited -- me or the kids!
More Soccer
The kids both continue to enjoy their soccer sessions on Wednesday afternoons. I finally remembered to bring the camera to snap a few more pics!
Playdate Time!
It's been a while since we had some friends over, so it was nice to have some playdate time! BB's friend C walked home from school with us -- they held hands the whole walk home. So sweet!

Quilling with My Crafty Girl
Last weekend, BB and I tried out a new craft: quilling!
Giki and Pop-Pop had given her the Twirled Paper book for her birthday, and we finally had a chance to open it up. Such fun!
Tide Pools Field Trip
Last week, I drove for a field trip: BJ's class visited the tide pools. Fascinating!
We've seen tide pools before, but never like this. The ones at Natural Bridges are really special. To get there, we had to hike through the eucalyptus grove, across the beach, and then a shortcut through the neighboring mobile home park. (I only took pictures of the first two stages of our trek.)
